The Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech will host the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 7:30 PM.  Theodore Kuchar will be the conductor laureate.  The orchestra will be joined by Kiev-born pianist Alexei Grynyuk, who attracted wide attention at the age of 13 when he won the first prize at the Sergei Diaghilev All-Soviet-Union piano competition in Moscow.  This program will feature Dvoƙák’s Carnival Overture, op. 92; Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto no. 3 in C Major, op. 26; and Shostakovich’s Symphony no. 5, op. 47.
