Come out to Sinkland Farms for the final weekend of the 2017 Pumpkin Festival on Saturday, October 28, 2017.

Don't miss the popular autumn family tradition this fall at Sinkland Farms Pumpkin Festival. This award winning festival features lots of fun activities for all ages to celebrate the fall harvest season.

Saturday, October 28th Special Events Schedule:

• All Day: Art in the Barn

• All Day: Chainsaw Exhibit

• All Day: Wine Tastings from Iron Heart Winery

• 12:00-1:00 pm: Cloggers

• 1:30-4:30 pm: Music from 3 Minute Lovin' (Barn Stage)

• 1:30-4:30 pm: Music from Mitch Clark (Back Porch Stage)

Admission price is $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for kids (toddlers under 2 are free). With admission, you and your family will be able to take a hay ride to pick your Great Pumpkin (pumpkins are extra) out of our 10 acre patch, tour the 2017 corn maze depicting a well loved sport in agriculture, visits to the farm animal barn and an all new Kid's Zone with many new features will provide kids lots of fun activities.

Extras include art and crafts vendor booths, pony rides, horseback trail rides and wine tastings. Pumpkins, fall décor and some of Virginia's Finest products are for sale in the cottage shoppe. For snacks and food, you will find Kettle Korn, Ice cream, great home cooked food and a coffee bar, with hot chocolate and cider. Food is individually priced.

Come out to walk the halls of the St. Albans Sanatorium in Radford, learn about the building, its lands and the stories of some of the souls who’ve been there.  They recommend that you dress in layers as areas of the building are very cold and wear comfortable shoes because there is a lot of walking on and a lot of stairs in the building. Please bring a flashlights to help illuminate the dark areas of the building even during the day.

The tours will be offered this Sunday, January 22, 2014 with registration at 12:30, tours will run 1pm-4pm.  

Adventures in The New River Valley-Observatory

D.C. Wysor Observatory & Museum

Star gaze in Dublin at the Wysor Observatory, located behind the Dublin Elementary, every Friday evening from 8pm to 11pm.  The Observatory has a 16 in. LX Meade telescope for viewing the solar system and future plans include installing a telescope camera and wide viewing screen and many other improvements to benefit the visitors to the Observatory.  The Museum showcases a vast collection of rocks, minerals and fossils along with an extensive library.  Other displays include a large custom-built model of the solar system and frame astronomical photographs.  This is a wonderful opportunity in our community, spending an evening viewing the evening sky!
